Welcome and Understanding.
From an early age and through adulthood, Joaquin Claussell’s favorite way to spend
time has been listening to music. His early bedroom sound studio became a vessel taking
him on trips to other worlds and galaxies, momentarily escaping the living chaos below
and around. Even after having traveled to the remote areas of the world on countless
vehicles over ground and through the air – there is no place where Joaquin can be more
free.
Joaquin has created a 2 hour radio session and extended An Invitation To Openness to
anyone interested in visiting his listening chamber -- filled with an immense library of
sounds and rhythms with deep roots in eclectic genres of music. If one wishes, on
irregular scheduled occasions, they will have access to the musical chamber by tuning in
to one of many Joaquin’s personal weekly music listening sessions, during which he will
naturally select music meant solely to feed his own appetite.
The session is open ended – no beginning and no end to the music. Due to the cosmic and
primal nature of these natural musical transmissions there will be no pre-conceived ideas
or programming. Whatever will come will be driven by real time and his moods - but it is
not far fetched to imagine that he may include rhythms, soundscapes as well as new
music that he may have recently acquired from other producers, and of course from his
continued and relentless excursions, which have guided him to unfamiliar territories to
make new music discoveries.
The format will be 95% Vinyl, Reel to Reel Tape, and some CD’s but only if they hold
music that is worthy enough to be played in the presence of the aforementioned superior
instruments. There will be no mixing. The raw elements of record skipping and needle
lifting will be a part of the program, as well as everything else that comes naturally with feeding
the ears.
An Invitation To Openness is simply a channel that can be opened by anyone who is
listening for the sake of simply listening. It’s about art in its purest form, nothing more,
nothing less.
